Walk-in clients come in, describe what they want, and our artists assess placement, size, and style. For custom work, a design is drawn and reviewed before a stencil is applied to the skin for the client's approval. Once the placement is confirmed, the tattoo begins. After the session, aftercare instructions are given verbally and in writing — we explain exactly what to do and what to expect during healing so clients leave with confidence.

Size, placement, level of detail, number of colors, and the complexity of the original concept all affect pricing. A fine-line wristpiece and a full-color sleeve are entirely different scopes. Complexity is not a reason to avoid a custom design—it is a reason to talk to us before assuming a price. Walk-in pieces that can be quoted on the spot are typically simpler; custom work and cover-ups are priced after a consultation.

Illinois Tattoo Age Rules Are Strict — Here Is What You Need to Know

Illinois law sets the minimum age for tattoos at 18. There is no parental consent exception for tattoos under any circumstances—this is not a studio policy; it is state law, and Premier Tattoo follows it without exception. If you are under 18 and want a tattoo, you will need to wait.

Piercings follow a different rule. Clients under 18 can receive a piercing at Premier Tattoo with a parent or legal guardian present at the time of the procedure. Both the minor and the adult must bring valid photo identification—no exceptions are made. If you are not sure what counts as valid ID, call us ahead of your visit at 217-475-1108 before making the trip.

Clients 18 and older should bring a valid, government-issued photo ID to their tattoo appointment. We check ID routinely. If you arrive without identification, we cannot complete the service that day.
